Editors at Hammersmith Apollo, London

Editors took to the Hammersmith Apollo stage on Tuesday, as part of their tour for fifth album In Dream. The band had to take a 25 minute break in the middle while technicians tackled sound problems that seemed to be coming from the speaker for Russell Leetch’s bass. Visibly frustrated, Tom Smith held up a sign saying ‘We’re so sorry’, but the band pushed through and only had to drop one song (Bricks and Mortar) before the 11pm curfew.

New song Salvation was a highlight, though the fans will need a bit longer to get to grips with the whole album, which sees the band shift from away from guitars and embrace dance and electronic. Support came from engaging (and appropriately-billed) Glaswegian miserablists The Twilight Sad.

Latitude Festival 2015

My first visit to Latitude festival in Suffolk, a rather more laid-back experience than Glastonbury. Highlight of the weekend was Porishead’s headline set on Saturday night, which included a special and unexpected appearance from Thom Yorke on ‘The Rip’.
